David Grim
Vice President of Marketing
A veteran of almost 20 years in college athletics, David
Grim joined Sports Systems Services as Vice President of Marketing in
September, 2004. His responsibilities center on customer service for many of
the company’s collegiate clients and the selected professional sports.
Prior to joining Sports Systems, David spent 16 years at the University of Tennessee, including the last four as the Vols' first internet communications director where he oversaw the athletic department's official web sites, e-commerce, coaches web sites and overall online strategy.
Under David’s direction, UT’s official web site
experienced incredible growth, ranking as one of College Sports’ (now CSTV) top producing
properties in revenue and visitors.
Prior to his promotion, David worked 12 years in the Vols’
sports information office, the last 10 as associate SID. Football and men’s
basketball publications that David edited and provided assistance won numerous national and regional
CoSIDA recognition including several “Best in the Nation” awards. He served as
a media director for the numerous NCAA and SEC championship events held on the
UT campus and was on the media staffs for a number of NCAA Tournaments,
including the 1988 Men’s Final Four and two College World Series.
David graduated with honors, earning his Bachelor of Arts degree in Journalism and Public Relations from the University of Tennessee, while working in
the Vols’ sports information office as a student assistant. Upon graduation, he
worked as assistant sports information director at Oklahoma State in 1987-88.
David and his wife, Kathy, have two children, Sarah and
Matt. They reside in Knoxville, Tenn.
