2010 Football Bowl Association and
NCAA Football Licensing Subcommittee Meetings
April 21-23 - Scottsdale, Arizona
The Phoenician

2010 FBA Meetings Agenda

This year's Football Bowl Association and NCAA Football Licensing Subcommittee meetings are approaching and I welcome each Bowl to join us beginning Wednesday, April 21 through Friday, April 23 at the The Phoenician in Scottsdale, Arizona.

The FBA hotel room block reservation deadline is Friday, March 12 so please complete the online registration prior to that date. All Bowl attendees are invited to the social events on the agenda as part of your FBA membership with the exception of the Executive Directors & CCA/BCS Reception on Thursday which is limited to Executive Directors and one guest.

Any Bowl that brings more than four (4) representatives to the meetings will be charged a flat fee upfront of $250 per additional person to defray the costs of the hospitality and meals.

The format for these meetings will be similar to last year’s as we no longer will have “one-on-one” breakout meetings with the NCAA Licensing Subcommittee. Rather, we are inviting all of the Conference Commissioners to attend the meetings and giving them a 30 minute window to meet individually with each of their bowl partners for the bowl games to be played at the conclusion of the 2010 college football season. Check with your affiliated conference to see if they plan to meet with you.

Second, in an effort to maximize our time together, we are building time into the Wednesday afternoon schedule for all FBA Committees to meet and prepare their reports to be presented at the Annual Meeting. We have also altered the 2010 schedule to shorten the overall length of the meetings and make the time we have more efficient. Note that Marketing and Events meetings begin Wednesday afternoon. We also encourage you to stay through Thursday night to attend the Bowl Dinner.

Third, there will not be a formal golf outing this year. However, the Tostitos Fiesta Bowl team has made arrangements for individuals interested in playing golf either beginning on Wednesday, April 21 in the morning prior to registration and our meetings or Friday, April 23. Please be sure to check golf details via the FBA Registration System for this information.

Lastly, attached is the 2010 FBA Annual Meeting Agenda. Please note that this schedule could potentially change and will be updated periodically. Please visit the FBA website for the most current schedule.

As we have done in the past, a Trade Show featuring products and services from a wide range of exhibitors will be held on Wednesday, April 21 from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. during the opening reception, as well as, during breakfast and lunch on Thursday, April 22. Vendors may also schedule breakout meetings with bowls on their own Thursday afternoon.

Before you finalize your arrival plan, ESPN and ABC bowls should note that their business meeting is Wednesday, April 21 at 4:30 p.m. CST prior to the Opening Reception.

Jim McVay and the Outback Bowl team are currently soliciting the Sponsors and Exhibitors who participated in 2009 to join us again in 2010 as well as reaching out to new potential partners.

If you have any new exhibitors interested in becoming a Trade Show vendor or a sponsor that would be interested in underwriting opportunities in conjunction with our meetings please direct them to www.SportsSystems.com/FBATradeShow. For any additional information, please have them follow-up with Mike Schulze at the Outback Bowl at (813) 874-2695 or via email at mike@outbackbowl.com.

We look forward to the opportunity to once again come together and discuss ideas for the year ahead and thank John Junker and the Tostitos Fiesta Bowl for hosting this year's meetings. Tracy Guerra (Director of Game Management) is serving as the event coordinator for the meetings and she can be reached via email at tguerra@fiestabowl.org or at her office phone at (480) 517-6283.

If you have any other questions about this year's meeting, please do not hesitate to reach out to me at (504) 525-8573. And, be sure to visit the FBA website at www.footballbowlassociation.com for additional information about the FBA.
