This year's Football Bowl Association and NCAA Football Licensing Subcommittee meetings are approaching and I welcome each Bowl to join us April 29-May 2 at the Hyatt Regency Bonaventure.

The FBA hotel room block reservation deadline is Friday, March 21 so please complete the online registration priot to that date.. All Bowl attendees are invited to all fo the social events on the agenda as part of your FBA membership with the exception of the Wednesday afternoon golf outing at Weston Hills Country Club, where each bowl will receive one (1) complimentary slot and others are available at $140 per player.

Any Bowl that brings more than four (4) representatives to the meetings will be charged a flat fee upfront of $250 per additional person to defray the costs of the hospitality and meals.

The format for these meetings will be similar to last year’s as we no longer will have "one-on-one" breakout meetings with the NCAA Licensing Subcommittee. Rather, we are again inviting all of the Conference Commissioners to attend the meetings and giving them a 30 minute window to meet individually with each of their bowl partners for the bowl games to be played at the conclusion of the 2008 college football season.

Second, in an effort to maximize our time together, we are building time into the Tuesday afternoon schedule for all FBA Committees to meet and prepare their reports to be presented at the Annual Meeting.

Third, we are including "panel discussions" for each of the three groups (Executive Directors, Events and Marketing). We are inviting representatives from various Conferences and Universities to bring their expertise to the table so we can exchange "real life" bowl experiences with people from all parties involved in post-season college football in an attempt to better understand the issues and ultimately improve the experience.

As we have done in the past, a Trade Show featuring products and services from a wide range of exhibitors will be held on Tuesday, April 29 from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. during the opening reception as well as during our two breakfasts (Wednesday, April 30 and Thursday, May 1) and the final lunch (Thursday, May 1). We have also built time into the agenda on Thursday morning for breakout meetings with vendors and other bowls.

In another change from an earlier agenda, ESPN and ABC bowls should note that the business meeting is now Tuesday, April 29 at 4:30 p.m. EST prior to the Opening Reception. Executive Directors will utilize Wednesday night to attend a reception with the CCA/BCS.

Derrick Fox and the Valero Alamo Bowl team are currently soliciting the Sponsors and Exhibitors who participated in 2007 to join us again in 2008 as well as reaching out to new potential partners.
